Shopify launched a Claude connector this week - a native one inside Claude.
The connection takes five minutes, and the interesting part is what changed when the friction of connecting disappeared. It used to be "how do I get Claude to see my store data?" Now it's "do I know what to ask?" - a problem worth solving.
Watch the video below:
The connector exposes 19 tools. Everything you normally do through the Shopify admin, like clicking into menus, finding the right screen, applying one change at a time - Claude can now do from a single prompt, against your live store.
This isn't a sandbox - the write access is real.
A prompt that runs a bulk price update or changes product status is operating on your actual catalog, which is why the prompts need to be built a certain way.
That’s why I have created a prompt library with 30 prompts (link below).
Every prompt in the library follows the same pattern. It names the tools it uses upfront, shows the plan before applying anything, and routes destructive actions through a confirmation step. You see the before-and-after first, approve, and then run.
Faster than clicking through admin, safer than an agent that decides for itself.
Get the Prompts Library
The full library is 30 prompts across discounts, products, inventory, collections, operations, and catalog hygiene. Copy and adjust the bracketed values for your store.
The operator notes under each one are worth reading. They tell you where the connector behaves unexpectedly and what to check before you commit.
If you ran one of these prompts and it broke or returned something different than what’s in this book, tell me. The connector is new and I want to know where it bends.
Let’s Connect
Do you run something like this and want to compare notes?
I spend most of my week deep in agent orchestration, model routing decisions, and what's actually working on Shopify catalogs at scale.
If you're building in this space, I'd rather trade notes than give a talk.
